Emily Huffman creates art as gesture, ritual, reflection, commentary, story-telling and exploration. Playing between allowing and intentional making, her subject matter is related to cycles, nature, nourishment, myth, magic, mind, body, identity, and relationships. She holds a BFA from Tulane University in New Orleans in painting and sculpture. After graduating in 2005 she moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, and worked out of Bonded Llama Artist Studios. From 2005-2008 she exhibited artwork in several spaces in the Raleigh-Durham area and began working collaboratively with the group she cofounded, Arthresholds. During this time she also became a licensed bodywork and massage therapist. Her work with the human body, healing, and the individual process greatly influences her artwork. In 2008 she moved to San Francisco, where she now lives and practices visual, written, sound, and movement arts in a studio by the beach. She also runs her own holistic bodywork therapy practice, located in the Mission District of SF.
